Selected as a Candidate for the “Popular Preprints of the Decade Award 2026”
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Preprints.org, the Popular Preprints of the Decade Award 2026 is being held to recognize notable preprints published over the past decade. Our paper,
“Gaming Disorders: Navigating the Fine Line between Entertainment and Addiction—Gaming History, Health Risks, Social Consequences, and Pathways to Prevention”

has been selected as one of 30 shortlisted preprints in the Public Health and Healthcare category.
This paper provides a broad overview of the history of gaming, its health and social impacts, the risks associated with Gaming Disorder, and approaches to prevention. This preventive perspective has subsequently contributed to the research and activities of GAME-F.
The shortlisted preprints are currently undergoing the final voting process for the award.
